Dermopsy, an exceptional project by students from the Department of Computer & Software Engineering at NUST, College of E&ME - Official, has earned a place among the top 100 innovators at the prestigious Dubai Future Solutions: Prototypes for Humanity. This remarkable achievement shines amidst 2,700 submissions from over 100 countries.
Dermopsy is an AI-driven solution revolutionizing skin disorder diagnosis. By combining reflectance confocal microscopy with deep learning, it offers a rapid, non-invasive approach to detecting conditions such as skin cancer and fungal infections. Unlike conventional methods, Dermopsy eliminates the need for staining, reducing diagnostic time from days to just minutes. This innovation is designed to make the diagnostic process more accessible and cost-effective.
The project is a collaborative effort between BIOMISA Lab at NUST CoE&ME and NIDI Skin, USA.
